App Explorer
|
What is AppExplorer?AppExplorer is a general-purpose data CD/DVD autorun application. It is different from other data CD/DVD autorun applications in the sense that it creates the catalog on the fly. This allows the CD/DVD to be modified at any point. The applications on the CD/DVD won't get lost even if their location on the media is changed. AppExplorer works by scanning a CD/DVD for ApplicationDescriptor files and uses these to create a categorized list of applications on the CD. The CD publisher/author has to spend some initial effort in making ApplicationDescriptor files. Once this is done they can move the application to any location in the CD/DVD. As long as the descriptors move with the application, AppExplorer will correctly find and list the application. This list can then be used to view descriptions of the applications and also launch their setups. The use of AppExplorer is not restricted to CD/DVD media. In fact it can be used to create a categorized list of applications on any hard disk or floppy disk. Besides, AppExplorer need not always be used for categorizing applications. It can also be used to categorize drivers, music or image files. With AppExplorer, the possibilities are almost endless!! Still not sure about what AppExplorer does? ... read the PurposeOfAppExplorer. AppExplorer is a Java application designed to run on SunJre 1.5 or above. |
