Sun JRE/JDK

Sun JRE is the Java Runtime Environment developed by Sun. It is required to execute Java applications. AppExplorer is also a Java application and requires Sun JRE version 1.5 (update 1) or later. The JRE can be downloaded for free here

Sun JDK is the Java Development Kit from Sun. The JDK always includes the JRE. Usually the JDK is used by developers who are developing Java applications.
